MIX started today and I see MS launched the betas for the entire Expression 2 family. I haven't got to play with them myself yet, but there looks to be a lot of great improvements so far. Check them out and let me know what you think.

Expression Studio 2 Beta

My wife has given birth to our twins, so I'm still going to be spotty around here. It never seems to correct itself does it? I'm sorry, I'm trying.

I purchased Expression Web last year and am investing many hours in learning to use it effectively.  Is there any advantage to downloading the EW 2 Beta or will the updates to my earlier EW effectively make it the same?

Thank you.

By the way.  Congratulations on the addition to you family. I wish for you as much pleasure for you from your children and family as I have and have had.

I haven't gotten to play a lot with the new xWeb, but it does look better IMO so far. If you bought the original version, you can upgrade for $99. As I start recording in v2, I can say better how improved it is.

And thanks for the well wishes! So far it has been amazing, even though they're still in the NICU, but they are doing very well!

For me one of the best improvements is that EW2 remembers you username and password when using ftp to transfer files.

What's New or Fixed:

# The program will now REMEMBER your username and password when publishing via ftp.
# Expression Web 2 lets you add or remove a BOM in existing documents, and control whether a BOM is added to new documents.
# Expression Web 2 lets you insert Flash SWF and Windows Media files into your pages, edit their properties, and preview your Flash files in Design view. In addition, you can insert and run any other type of ActiveX control, such as QuickTime or RealPlayer.
# You have the choice of setting the default file extension as htm OR html.
# You can now preview php pages locally.

You can check out all of the features from the MS website.
