Hey Guys,

Has anyone tried building a animated pulldown menu in Expression Blend and ported that over to a VS 2008 Project or Website?

Can you build Animated Components that can be used in a website project?

I have so many questions of how to use expression blend, it sounds like the tool I've been searching for all my life.

Null Reference error when updating TextBlock

I'm working on an interface to a piece of equipment that communicates through a serial port. I have a slider on the interface and want to display the changed values of the slider in a TextBlock using the value_changed event. The TextBlock is recognized by intellisense but when I run the app I get an XMLParserError / null reference error that points to the TextBlock. If I assign a value to the Text property of the TextBlock anywhere else in the code-behind file, - no problem, but putting it in the value_changed event throws the error.
Any help?

Customising TreeViews

Can anyone point me towards a tutorial for customising the treeview in XAML? I want to put in my own expander icons instead of the default plus and minus signs.

Hey there (if there's anyone out there)

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to force a window to resize using the same proportions? I have seen it done before on an app but I have no idea how to do it myself (I can barely read the word .NET let alone use it). I have an issue with an interface that goes a bit pear shaped if you don't keep the proportions when you resize.

I was thinking that this might be possible by applying a custom expression to the height of the element that tells it to always be 3/4 of the width (if that makes sense?) but I don't know wnough XAML code to be able to write this myself off the bat.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to achieve this or any other ideas, please let me know as it's officially driving me round the bend.:w00t:

I'm taking my first steps into xaml.

If you making a windows application and you make a program with the treeview, you have the TreeNode object, to make a node in the treeview. Just like the Windows Explorer.

1. With a WPF application, you don't have the TreeNode. Can someone explain me a solution to show a node in the TreeViewItem ?

2. Also design I a TreeViewItem in Blend. How can I use this designed TreeViewItem in my C# program enviroment ? It's impossible to do something like this : TreeViewItem tvItem = new TreeViewItem(); I suppose ?

First, one big Hello for everyone here on the forum!

I am new to Expression Blend and Microsoft WPF but I'm putting a lot of effort in discovering them. I have a question.

I'm building a project with one main Window and a few custom made usercontrols in it. One of them has an animation on Timeline1, which I would like to start by pressing on a button located in main window.
So far I understand I must do that through code behind file, in my case window1.xaml.cs. I used event handlers a few times but just for changing properties. If someone can show me a code example I would be very pleased.

I've been trying to redesign a form from a VB.Net (I'm using Visual studio 2005) project in Blend. But I just can't seem to get the Form loaded into Blend. If i add it as an object, i can't visually edit it, when i double click on the form object, it opens it in code in VS...
Can someone please help me out?

Blend - Apollo ?

Trying to get an overview of what is what and what is best ;)

Is MS BLEND the same as Adobe's Apollo ?
As i read it Blend is exactly the same as Apollo. They are both trying to blend desktop apps with web apps.

Can anyone confirm if they are about the same thing ?

Also if you want to use Blend or Expression in General to do the same as Apollo, What do you actually need from the MS Expression packages ?
We have Web, Blend, Media and so on. Can i use Blend and nothing else to compete with Apollo, or do i need more than Blend ?
