Well, I have been working with EW since early February and I am now feeling somewhat comfortable with CSS after using FrontPage and relying on FPSE for a long time. I am now rebuilding all of my sites from the ground up. This first site: http://www.rrlscape.com is for the landscape company I work for where I show computer image landscape designs to potential customers on the site. I ran the CSS report and got everything worked out fine. On the compatibility check there are a few issues since I am using the include webbot to manage my menus. I just couldn’t get the DWT pages to work for me. The other issue is that I use onblur="self.focus() on pages that I need to open in a popup window and stay on top until the visitor closes it. I don’t know if there is any other code that will pass the compatibility check and do the same thing? The next site is just my personal family website http://www.howiewaldman.com . It starts with a flash intro and then enters the main site. The code is good except for the include webbots. Two sites down and about six more to go. It was a challenge to start using CSS and looking more closely at the code after years of not worrying about it. Following this forum and the tutorials were a great tool and I want to thank you very much for the help.

I would advise that you don't get overly concerned about the compatibility check personally. Some people would no doubt disagree with that statement, but the fact is you need to include bits sometimes that make your sites only 98% compliant. The fact that you're making them a compliant as you can is a good thing. It is something that is still important to be aware of and to be concerned about, but there is certainly a line as well.
Your sites looks good and work well and your code looks pretty clean. I take it you started handing coding a lot of it? It looks like it anyway.
One piece of advice I would offer on the landscaping site. In some of the body text you have links, that are bold type. However, you also have bold type that is not a link. There's no easy visual clue for your user then to know that there is a link there for them to follow. That's really my biggest suggestion at the moment, all and all its a good job.
Thanks for sharing.

Dustin Thanks for the review and suggestions. I had the landscaping site up and running for several years, done in FP (it had a different look but the same basic concept). So I'm guessing you mean by hand coding is all of the JavaScript to open the popup windows. I brought that over from the old site and then cleaned it up as much as I could. I made a choice to stick with the JS rather then re-do it using behaviors. Thanks again for the review and all that I learned from this site and especially your video tutorials, I was really lost in EW until I went through your videos several times. Howie

| BTW, Howie, the landscaping site is very nice. Real pleasing to the eye, reserved and readily communicates it's intent to the veiwer. Well done.

Thanks for sharing JB. I briefly glanced at your site and it's looking good. When I get back I'll sit down and give a critic.
